Terre des hommes employs almost 100 people at its headquarters in Mont-sur-Lausanne and its Swiss-German office in Bern. Many are resource people specialised in the priority intervention areas.
The executive management of Terre des hommes is the responsibility of a Management Committee, comprised of 6 members and led by the Secretary General, all of whom are salaried.
The overall direction of Terre des hommes is provided by the Foundation Council, comprised of 15 members, of whom 6 serve on the Advisory Council.

Throughout the world, Terre des hommes employs more than 50 expatriates and over 1000 local personnel, in 30 delegations and 4 emergency relief programmes, and works with local partner organisations. In some cases, Terre des hommes works with a single partner and does not have a delegation in the strict sense: the management of our programme in such cases is assured by our partner’s directors.
In Switzerland, Terre des hommes benefits from a popular and well-established support base, with 52 Working Groups and Sections which include over 2,500 volunteers. These people invest their time and knowledge in activities to raise public awareness and funds, and provide one third of Terre des hommes’ budget.
