Child labour, child trafficking, child prostitution - the unbearable daily burden of millions of street children. With your investment in our child protection projects, you give them a decent basis for life with new perspectives.

Give now

As an investor you are involved in child protection for one year. The daily life of the many children in need of protection offers little possibility of happiness. Where children are threatened with abuse, exploitation and poverty, survival is the only thing that counts. Terre des hommes campaigns actively and on the spot, so that children can break out of the spiral of misery and get back to a normal daily life without fear. We offer street children an alternative to life on the streets. We speak up for them, so that exploited and abused children can have a fresh chance and learn to trust themselves and others. We open up new perspectives to the victims of trafficking and prostitution. And we are involved in seeing that children who would otherwise be imprisoned for petty offences receive an alternative punishment. But above all, we give them back something essential: a smile and the possibility of being... just a child.

Give the gift of life with a bequest or a legacy Who are better suited to receive bequests or legacies than children?

Children who represent our future. Children who can only have the prospect of an independent life with our support. Children who have a basic right to a life of dignity.

The requirement for this is a will. Regrettably, six out of ten people in Switzerland die without having made one, even though it is so simple to set down your wishes in a will. Without a will and with no close family (children, spouses, or parents are usually covered by the legal reserve), after your death your property will go to distant relatives or the State!

There are two ways to support the Foundation of Terre des hommes – Child Relief

Legacy (share of inheritance) You appoint the Terre des hommes Foundation (alone or with other persons or institutions) as legatee. If there are heirs, they are entitled to a legally defined minimum share of the total inheritance (legal reserve).

Testamentary gift (bequest) You bequeath Terre des hommes a set sum of money or tangible assets. This can be in the form of property, works of art, securities, valuable furniture or life insurance and annuities.

  • We undertake to use the funds entrusted to us for the benefit of children in need according to the Terre des hommes Charter;
  • We guarantee to deal with all information in the strictest confidence;
  • Donations are exempt from death duty in almost all Swiss cantons.

Our three brochures can help you decide. They are available free and without any obligation (in French and German only).
